Oakland First Fridays

Oakland First Fridays is an inclusive art and community experience on the first Friday of each month from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Telegraph Avenue from West Grand to 27th Street. Oakland's KONO district springs to life with this event, where visitors can enjoy galleries, artist collectives, street artists, local culinary artisans, performers, musicians, dancers, DJ’s, and poets gathering for Oakland First Friday events. Thousands of people come from across the Bay Area and beyond to see and experience art, be inspired, eat great food, enjoy live music, and stroll through the amazing, eclectic city of Oakland. An economic impact report shows that the Oakland First Fridays has a major, positive economic impact on the KONO community.

First Friday Art Walk

"Every month – rain or shine! On the first Friday of every month, Oakland Art Murmur hosts an evening art walk featuring arts and mixed-use venues collectively open to the public. Oakland Art Murmur (OAM) began organizing the free, monthly art walk — known as The Art Murmur — in 2006. Today, OAM is an organization of over 50 galleries that produces weekly art walks, guided tours and other exclusive events. Learn more at About Oakland Art Murmur." - First Friday Art Walk | Oakland Art Murmur | Dec. 27, 2017

Saturday Stroll

Many of the galleries that participate in Oakland’s highly popular First Friday Art Murmur gallery walk are also open EVERY Saturday afternoon. Known as the Saturday Stroll, this is a quieter and more focused time to view art at your own pace and visit with Oakland Art Murmur gallery directors. Learn more about OAM and its programs at About Oakland Art Murmur.
